East Pacific Red Octopus a.k.a. the Ruby Octopus is a medium-sized octopod considered to be one of the most intelligent invertebrates with capabilities of demonstrating individual personalities. Although named ruby for its beautiful red tonality, it is rare to catch a glimpse of this stealth hunter in its original shade. Mostly camouflaged to match its surroundings, it pounces on its prey and then displays a sequence of color changes, as if congratulating itself on a 'good catch'.
